I don't agree with the thesis that an open forum is self defeating or counter productive... for the following reasons:

- this forum is great to share ideas
- SI COULD be a very good place to do this... once you start an "ADVISORY" service, the informal, loose as a goose environment changes and then we would begin using the "safe" suggestions rather than our opinions.
- I know I am not registered as an investment advisor, so without that protection, I would hate to be making even suggestions that might be construed as advice
- the idea behind an open public forum is you have a "thousand eyes" to spot things we as individuals might not be able to monitor... good example was the divergence of the GLOBEX info in our "mini-crash" or whatever they are calling it now... few picked it up, and when it was posted it became the "aha" for those of us who listened!

I could go on and on... but coffee waits...
