OFF TOPIC

Yes, there is a speed limit, so I will have to modify what I said. When otherwise posted during non-Manatee season, which is November 16-March something, if memory serves, you can go 25 mph. Mostly however the speed is between minimum wake and no-wake, which are not very specific speeds. Going out of the Port however, where a lot of traffic gets squeezed into relatively narrow confines and where there are people using jet skis, you can go as fast as you want. The water there is often very choppy because of the boat traffic and because incoming and outgoing water gets squeezed into a very narrow channel (relatively speaking) all of which makes this narrow corridor rather dangerous in its own right. I may go in and out of there at speeds of 10-15 knots and am routinely run over my other boats going 2 or three times faster, often with the people holding onto whatever they can in order to keep from injuring their spines or from being tossed overboard. Oh well, like trading stocks, I try to hug the edge of the channel and give the wider middle to the people who are in a bigger hurry than I.
