I notice there was no comment by Admin re the discrepancy in the ban period -

"The message I received said it was a 7 day ban but I'm actually banned for 14 days. Funny, there is nothing in the terms of use about using one and I did not receive any kind of warning prior to the ban. Can you post something about it (since I obviously can't and I can't even PM an admin while under posting ban -what's up with that?)......... I disabled the adblocker and would like to use the site as agreed to in the terms of use."

I just did a quick check of the two SI boards which I visit the most to compare traffic so far this year to the same period from last year. One board has 20% fewer posts while the other has 24% fewer. If this is indicative of the site as a whole, SI is continuing its decline at an alarming rate. I can't imagine that advertisers are going to pony up the same amount of dollars for fewer and fewer eyes. I hope Craig has been able to wring enough revenue out of the company to cover his investment because the company is certainly going to have less value if/when he puts it up for sale that it had when he acquired it.

Here is the current state of SI as I see it. Advertisements have slowed the site and made it less responsive (No one denies they are necessary for SI's survival; however, when they affect its performance, they can destroy it). Admins seem to have disengaged and are arrogant and out of touch when they do appear. Participation on the web site continues to dwindle; and the feeling of community, which made it special, has evaporated. At one time, I would have bemoaned SI's demise. Now, it would be bittersweet.
