I don't think revenge is part of motive, rather it may need money
for its own new Power company as well as loan payment before January.

This quarter will end soon and the result will be anybody's guess. I
would still be optimistic about the current quarter's outcomes based
on G3's sales, better inventory control, Jobs' direct involvement
in sales and marketing, and school's incentive programs.

It should be even better next quarter since no major clone products
will be in the market starting Jan. 1, 1998, and G3 machines will be
sold internationally, the market will be more stablized in Asia,
particularly in Koera, and Microsoft vs. DOJ battles will make
Microsoft closer to Apple in strategic and tactical plans. Although
the book value of Apple has been reduced from 20+ to teens, the
direction Apple follows seems on the right track. With still 1.2 b in
the bank and not much in short-term debts, Apple is heading the much-
healthier path. We all are anticipated to hear more surprising news
in the coming MacWorld in SF and expected the stock will be boosted
before shareholders' meeting in Feb.
