Hey gang, just got a copy of the Merck manual (most widely used medical reference in the world) for my bday. This is what they had to say about retinoids: "Finally, one of the most important potential therapeutic approaches is to find drugs that help prevent cancer. Retinoids have been effective in reducing the recurrence rate of some cancers, especially those of the mouth, larynx and lungs. " Sounds to me like these drugs may be used off label for prevention of recurrence--could be a large market.
