I guess I had looked at APF and, as you say, worried about its being 40% in Japan. Let's see, though. If the Nikkei went to 10,000, that would be about a drop of 30%, and 30% of 40% is 12%. A drop to 12,500 would take out only 6%. When I think of it that way it doesn't seem so bad. With almost an 18% discount...well...GRR still looks a little better.

I have only been thinking about this area of investment for about a week. I am not sure there's any rush needed to get in right away. The very fact that some people are comparing the Asian markets to the US in 1987 makes me wary.

But maybe if my hedge against the US pays off I will shift into emerging markets.
