Hiram, They can't over charge you in an auction. One company in the mid west picked up spectrum for several areas for a total of $6 in one auction. Story was on the front page of the WSJ. If you were thinking about it, it never hurts to try. You never know what might happen. You might be kicking your self later if your area is purchased cheaply. If the government is stupid, they might let you have it cheap. I have thought about it myself, but don't have the time, knowledge, or money when you get right down to it. Local ISP is already advertising wireless high speed internet within seven miles of their location for next year. Interesting.
