How will being listed on NASDAQ change the effects of market makers?

Several posts here have indicated that when listing occurs, the market makers will no longer be a problem.

As I understand it, the market makers are still the ones doing the buying and selling on NASDAQ, whereas the NYSE and AMEX are auction markets, with specialists doing the matching up of buyers and sellers.

Granted, being listed will give the company greater exposure, but the market makers are still in the middle.

Am I missing something here?

AC

as of today.

Maybe Frank needs to hire some pens to move the stock up a tad.

...if he hasn't already ;-)
