Kurt,

The Pilar del Caribe was seized by the Jamaican authorities about 2 years ago for having cocaine on board. My understanding is that Peter Hargitay was tried and acquitted in Jamaica on the drug charges, tried and acquitted in Miami for the same charges, and is now waiting an extradition order from Hungary. He carries a Swiss passport.

The ship became the property of the Jamaican authorities, I am told, and was sold to a Columbian entity earlier this year. The harbormaster in Kingston says the ship was in extremely poor condition, and was not "refurbished".
