you are right there are a bunch of techniques with options.... I attended a work shop that Larry McMillian who wrote one of the bibles on options.... Options as a strategic investment He had ways of looking at when total call volume was 2 or 3 times total put volume it was bearish on a given stock... and the inverse and several 0ther techniques that he puts out in a newsletter... it's probably on the web. and in terms of info .... you are right the big guys have information advantage.. but it depends on your time frame.
