dead on...(gallows humor).the link was great..thanks for the correction
..just read another editorial..this time by Johnson(former hedgefund
manager who worked for Soros) in the New York Times..he stressed perception and to play the market is to try to think how the people will perceive what will transpire..he also said watch what the governments do..not what they say..in essence, not fundamentals but perception and psychology..
I have assumed if currencies were tied to something that can't be
manipulated..ie gold or any other transportable hard asset that is
recognized globally, financial institutions would be kept honest.
without it, politicians and international bankers rule the day..
I bet it goes against a lot of people's principles on this thread
"to go with the flow because we know that they end in a gigantic bubbles rather than steady and solid growth..a lot of us are advocates of gold because we don't like the games of the market..it causes a lot of distress to know that so much of what the governments do is for short term fixes and a lot of prayers that things will workout..instead of their just letting the economies do their own
things.
The only way out is to find good companies that produce profits.
The trouble there is if you don't know the management, you can read
and talk to them and still be taken to the cleaners. I assume that
is why a lot of seasoned money managers buy the Cisco's etc which
continually display good earnings and sound management..
experiencing a lot of
tax cuts..wonder if a lot of Koreans might start flooding our job
market.
I am hoping to wake up one morning and have the governments of the
world announce that a gold standard will be returned to curtail all
the financial mismanagement which profits a few hugely, and lowers
the quality of many people's lives.
