The dustbowl was natural climate change. Much worse than we're seeing now and you can't blame it on SUV's. Remember, it wasn't just a local thing in the KS-TX area ... 80% of the US was in a drought in 1934. If todays green movement had existed, it would have been blamed on FF's and we'd have banned internal combustion engines, oil, gas, and coal and mandate going back to horses and buggies, windmills, etc. When the drought stopped, the greens would say look, our stupid policies worked. Hail Gaia.
