You're probably right about Bernie not winning the nomination. But he will go to the convention with enough power to influence Hillary's platform and possibly to force her to name someone like Elizabeth Warren to the VP slot. Hillary must name a VP that can make sure the Bernie supporters turn out in the general. Because if she doesn't enough of them may stay home to cause her to lose the election e.g. the kids who prefer Bernie to Hillary by a margin of over 80%.

Hillary must have the Bernie supporters to win in November, so she is going to have to negotiate with the Bernie supporters no matter what happens. So it is pretty far-fetched to imply she has relegated him to the dustbin of history.

Bernie has pretty much already done his job, as he has moved Hillary so far to the left she now takes his positions. If you saw Saturday Night Live two weeks ago, you saw where they did this skit where Hillary literally metamorphosed into Bernie because she has taken so many of his positions. If he gains nothing else, that is enough and he is a winner. But he has also mobilized a powerful liberal force in the Democratic Party going forward.

Bernie's objective is not to just get nominated, his objective is to motivate the people, all people, to rise up and elect politicians that will oppose the plutocrats. There will be many people running for Congress this year that will be representing the Bernie and Elizabeth Warren wing of the party.

The millennial's are now the largest voting bloc in the country and they are running over 80% Bernie to less than 20% for Hillary Hillary. The Democratic Party is moving left very fast. So is the country.

Bernie has virtually zero chance to make it onto the ballot in November, Hillary has already stuck him into the loser box of history.
