We do the billing for my daughter's office, which is ad speech and language therapy for children with autism. I talked the the mom for one of her patients last week the wife of a doctor. They had purchased an Obamacare policy to cover the child in 2015 because it covered autism, even though the child had other insurance.

The child was seen since Sept of 2015, one or two sessions a week typically, and the insurance had paid on exactly four sessions. I explained to her that the problem was the deductible was $6,000 a year, and they had been clipped both in 15 xand 16 on it. It was like she couldn't understand the idea of a $6000 deductible.

People don't see how they can pay premiums all year and still not get any benefits.

There is something funky going on with the cost in these policies, though. I have a feeling the true cost of care U.S. Escalating a lot more than they are admitting. They don't seem to have any cogent way of tracking it and one has to wonder whether that is by design.
