If you buy USB flash drives get USB 3. I have 2 USB Flash Drives and they are all backwards compatible with USB 2.

You can't go wrong with a USB 3.0 Flash drive since they are backwards compatible with both USB 2.0 and even 1.0.

Also, although you won't get full USB 3.0 speed from an older port, a USB 3.0 Flash drive will still run faster even if your computer doesn't have USB 3.0 support.
