I am very proud of my Neanderthal heritage. I always tell the kids when they do something special it is their Neanderthal genes. Most of us also have a good amount of Denisovin DNA as well and some other dude they found the DNA, but have never found a skeleton.

Snowshoe, sometimes in life you just have to trust somebody. Trust me, as Dick's buddy-lol, about the Axemakers Gift. It reads like a novel and it's just fascinating. But also when you're finished with that book you will know more about the big picture of humankind then 99% of the people you will ever meet. But most importantly it will provide you with the context for all the knowledge you presently have. And when you provide context to things it is like turning on a light in a dark room.

In Ornstein's other book, the evolution of consciousness, he writes an entire paragraph that makes no sense at all when you read it. Is completely unintelligible. But then he provides the context, which is Columbus coming to America and when he does that the entire paragraph makes perfect sense.
