Well, this post is a clear example that you can cure diseases but you cannot cure stupid.

Again.

You have a talent, Tidey.

This is a good example, however unintentional. With you, it is obviously unintentional. You are so stone, cold ignorant it can't be anything else.

The common cold. Thankfully it isn't very virulent because it is so easily transmissible. Being a rhinovirus, it infects the upper respiratory tract. And it is transmissible by aerosols, which are produced when one sneezes or coughs. Both of which it induces when it infects someone. And once it gets transmitted to someone else, odds are high they will be infected.

In other words it spreads very easily. To top it off, there is no way to effectively treat it.

Bummer.

But, as previously noted, it isn't very virulent.

Now, consider Ebola. It can be very virulent unless treated effectively. What is very important is to keep the patient hydrated. With clean water. Which is difficult in 3rd world countries. Hence their much higher mortality rate compared to a near zero rate in developed countries. Fortunately, it is transmissible only by contact with bodily fluids. Preventing said contact is easy to do in developed countries, not so much in 3rd world countries. Which explains why there was almost no cases by secondary contact in developed countries, outside of that one case in that hospital more attuned to hangnails and other afflictions of the famous and wealthy. They have a top-notch cardiac unit, though. And rosewood paneling on the walls. They almost killed one of their nurses who made the mistake of coming into the ER. Too bad her last name wasn't Bush or Perot. Things might have worked out differently. Who knows, with the right last name my uncle might still be alive. But...

One other thing about Ebola, it isn't all that infectious. Especially if the person exposed to bodily fluids is otherwise healthy. Like nurse Tram that was infected by Duncan, who has the misfortune of working at that unnamed hospital when her number came up. She was transported to Ohio before she was diagnosed. Probably exposing a lot of others in the process. None of whom contracted the disease. Unlike Tram who just had a bad day. Studies have shown the odds of it being transmitted is much lower than other diseases which transmit by contact with bodily fluids. Like AIDS. And unlike AIDS, it usually isn't transmittable until the patient is symptomatic.

You can find out more by going to the CDC web site. Trigger warning: it isn't the same as you get from Fox News. Reality rarely is.

I realize that you regularly wet yourself when you think about Ebola. After all, it is a problem in countries with lots of black people. Some of whom are Muslim. And our president is black. Maybe a Muslim. So he clearly wants this disease of black people to pollute your precious bodily fluids. Which you spread around when you piss yourself thinking about it...
