Taken from Pres Message:

"We have also raised $7.4 million in a FTEL private placement of convertible preferred shares which closed on Nov. 24, 1997. The price will be between $4.00 and $5.00 per share established by
averaging the price during the first 30 day after the close."

It seems to me that our $7 million investors had a vested interest in keeping the price down through 12/24/97. (first 30 days after the close) The closer to $4 or under the better for them.

Well, this seems to be the first day of trading without the above pressure on the stock.
