"...beginning of the end of the great era of the USA" yeah well, I guess that is getting carried away! But what exactly do you suggest? A government department to set the price of Windows 95? A government software design bureau to decide which bits should be included in any particular software? "Power to the People"? You mean if they vote to eat short, fat people and get a 70% majority, then that is a good idea? If they vote to nationalize Bill's operating system, that's a good idea? Bill has hardly got it all. He has got 0.01% of the USA GNP or something. Hang on, 280 million people, with GNP per person of about $40 000 gives $10 000 000 000 000 per year and Bill G. only gets about 40% of $3bn net profits for Microsoft = $1 200 000 000.

Bill G is getting only a ten thousandth of the GNP! I really don't think he is in danger of getting it all, taking over the government, country or even Nevada. But government, a true monopoly, gets $3 000 000 000 000, that is nearly 3000 times as much as Bill. Best to worry about the tigers eating you before the ants.

Qualcomm is similar to Bill G. They are selling to the world billions in value and enabling billions more in other American goods and services to be sold to the evil aliens [who should never be trusted].

If Reno makes life hard for them, the USA competitive position will dwindle. You can all learn Chinese, and Ramsey will be sitting sweet, reporting in to Peking [I speak English] on youse guys behaviour. He can be the Prelate of San Diego. China has a billion people, all learning the joys of go for it capitalism without the distraction of democracy and the spivs who put their hands in the taxpayers' pockets.

In the wonderful world of China, only the political bosses put their hands in the taxpayers pocket. I wonder which is cheaper?

Caxton, I did see the Russians want Ramsey, but the Chinese might put in a higher offer since their economy is going so well. Your message serves as a reminder never to believe the cut and paste crowd - always go to the original source to verify.

When I clicked on the Qualcomm reader counter an hour ago it was on 79! But I bet some loonies went back and had a little click to see what it was up to! Thinking their one click wouldn't make a difference. A bit like a single dog doo on the footpath - dog owners must have special insensibility to not notice it on their shoes, their carpets, their picnic blanket or dribbling down their children's chins. [No offence q-dog, I'm sure yours are lovely!]

Give me a break! I hope these socialistic ramblings are just a joke. You sound like the type that keeps wondering why Bill is doing things for the benefit of Microsoft and his employees instead of everyone else. My now isn't that an interesting concept - wouldn't the world be a better place if we all went into business in order to benefit the competition!

What a bunch of trash - msft prices are too high, gates is evil, petition your congressman for more regulation and enforcement. You must work for the government.

Take it to the antibusiness thread in the Russia section, dog.
