Mq's 7SSS[tm] solves all that. 7Second Swap Stop station = drive in, stop, pull out battery, push in a recharged one, drive away. Elapsed time = 7 seconds. With such a fast recharge time, batteries could be small and changed frequently. Small = cheap Small = light weight Light weight = less energy consumed to cart them around Light weight = less structural mass required to hold the battery so lighter car Lighter car = less energy consumed to cart the car around. Small = easier and faster to swap it Easier and faster = range is not a problem Formula E has a dopey pit stop with the driver jumping out of one car and running to get in another to continue the race. Formula E should be doing battery swap pit stops. A proper pit stop not a silly one where the car is changed. Mqurice

There is a company in Canada that has discovered a deposit of Graphite that came into being as a small lake of liquid C as a result of degassing a volcano a second before it was to explode . The first time this material has been found on Earth in size . The liquid = smaller crystals = fewer impurities = better conductor than the best synthetic .
