What's considered "fluff" depends on each individual...but it can also come down to simple economics. OSPs and ISPs, almost as a rule nowadays, are $20/month unlimited access services. Therefore, why not get more than a simple connection to the net? Unlike AOL, with MSN you can bypass it and use it as pure Internet, since it's incorporated in MSIE 4.0, or access MSN itself, if desired. I prefer to get more for my money.
