Forecasts made last Spring predict 2 cents per MB by 2000.
Retail prices of 5 cents per MB are common now. I think
DD prices are right on track. Remember that capacity increases
are achieved without extra components by increasing areal density.

Brian...you are right that technology prices have always decreased. If the driving force behind the price decrease is due to reduced manufacturing cost...then that's great....however, if it's due to an impalance in supply and demand that's bad news.

At this point I believe that most of the price drops are due to increased supply and a slower demand growth.
