Eric, You're right. Many ads do just say something like "Click Here And Win $5,000!" No brand recognition there, more like the old advertising saw that you should always have "Free" or "New" to catch people's eye. How well "Click For Cash," or whatever, works, I don't know. I'd guess that most cyber-advertisers are still groping for what works. They won't have it down to a science for a while. An example of something that has not worked out seems to me to be "push" technology. The advertisers salivated at the thought of being able to push ads along with content to people who volunteered their interest in a particular subject. So far, it looks like people aren't thrilled with being "pushed at," to coin a phrase.
