Work and social pressures have kept me away, but the promise is not forgotten. I got to within a mile of it when I last visited my elder sister in London. Stratford International and the shopping center was all I got to see. I lost my bag and wallet, but I got it back about a week later. A security guy had opened a zip but all the money and cards, personal items were returned. People generally are warm and honest everywhere in the world is my experience. My sister is close to Gloucester Road and the Victoria and Albert Museum. She laughed when I told her of my "dangerous mission" to visit Tower Hamlets as she used to work there (until very recently) at the University, and traveled there every day using public transport. She said it's West of Canary Wharf, very stylish and about one of the safest places in London. So we are still "on" for this Tower Hamlets mission :-) Here is a FB comment I made btw of passing interest... It's all there for the world to see. I am looking at other stuff too, from different "events". There is lots of material. Maybe the next "event" will be real mayhem, but I got idea who is behind it. See the second link below for clues. ... and it isnt some guy in the ME that is the problem, nor ... I very much doubt indeed, any Muslim(s) who live and work in the UK either. jmho. -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------OK. just a REALITY check, no accusations made....Ambulance driver realizes he is unarmed, and checks people for weapons ?! London bridge attack. Yes I am a little suspicious of all the terror attacks going on during elections and some of them have repeat hall marks that naturally make one suspicious of a "training exercise" taking place rather then a terror attack. First check question:Have all the CCV cameras been previously switched off? If they have it's time to be a l ittle suspicious maybe? OK, so lets look at an interview of a person at the scene. This one is on Sky TV, and it the first ambulance at the incident, and there is carnage all around. What does he do? Well first he realizes that he is unarmed, and then he checks the people running past for guns. Sorry... is this an ambulance driver or maybe he is more used to being an armed guard perhaps? Just wondering. In my book he fails the authenticity check. I know emergency responders have an immediate risk assessment to do on arriving at an accident scene, but realizing one is unarmed, checking passers by for guns isn't on the list I would have thought. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- see this Sky TV link. news.sky.com I got reminder there is had been some nice updates to this old story website. kool...youtube.com
