I'm part Irish as well, so I know first-hand the barbarous nature of people like Pogue Mahon, and Timothy McVeigh and Whitey Bolger. That's what drives Pogue's comments. He's naturally projecting the irrational violent nature of his people onto others, and currently he's most obcessed with the possibility Moslems might be much like his own family. I'm sure has horrifying tales about his family which can't be shared in polite society.
