Don: I have visited a number of FEET stores and spoken with line employees. They tell a pretty consistent tale of verbal abuse by top management when it visits the stores. It is one thing to be rigid about keeping your stores in tip-top shape; it is another to make personal assumptions about individuals based on appearances and to be abusive. If I were the CEO of a large chain store, I certainly wouldn't want line employees to cringe when I made an appearance at their store. If they cringe, it is because they know they are not doing the job they are suppose to do, or because I am unreasonable in my interactions. Neither is a healthy situation for the stores or the stock.
