It is really difficult to compare price X sales across industries. The key is the profit margin. For example, in the grocery business, profit margins are often razon thin, and huge sales figures are necessary to generate small profits. In other industries, profit margins are over 50% and much smaller sales figures can generate good profits.

I think Amazon and Microsoft are quite different in this regard and probably cannot be compared accurately.
