The Problem with gangs is one of simple education. If you go into the inner cities and set up free preschools, good public schools and free community colleges with no entrance exams, or grade requirements, you will transform that neighborhood into one that operates on a much more civilized level. I am from Richmond California one of the top 10 cities in the country for murder rates and gangs. I was born in the Richmond hospital and I graduated from Richman Union high school. I earned a lot of my way through college selling pot and playing low ball in the clubs in San Jose. I know the streets, but I also know Plato. Knowing Plato and Socrates will change a person! And I watched how the local junior college changed thousands of gang bangers into boring accountants and kindly school teachers. The problem we keep running into in this country is at the Republicans refuse to fund free preschool and free community colleges. So it's on the Republicans, the Democrats would vote to appropriate that money in a heartbeat. So who is to blame?
