It IS TIME to buy this one for sure (and FORE). When even the hard core holders call it a dog and can't rationalize their holding it there should only be one direction for ASND ----- up.
Plenty of premium in the options and a 2 point downside against a 6 to 7 point upside. Long on ASND from here with a holding block and also a trading block. This is the same stratigy we used to give our biggest gain in '97. Guess what stock it was, ------ yep 'le ASND. Good investing to all in '98.

All the major networking companies were up a dollar or more today
except ASND. The NASDAQ 100 was up sharply with only 21 issues in the
index showing a decline. Can anyone think of anything positive to
say about today's action of ASND ? (AAPL was one of the 21 issues lower today - great company ASND is keeping). (Birds of a feather---)?

>>>I would have rationalized ASND's weakness today to tax motivated
selling<<<

The tax-loss selling for 1997 is over today. As a result of my procrastination, I became familiar with the unfortunate realization that since it takes 3 days for a sale to "settle", any finalized sale to be reported as deductable for "tax-loss" purposes, cannot have a date of settlement into the next fiscal year. Therefore, no more tax-related selling after today. In 1996, I waited until Dec. 30/31 before selling some more stock to be deducted...after the fact, I was informed that they were not viable tax-loss candidates since they were settled on Jan 1 and 2, 1997.

So at least that's over with! :o)
