You always have your chickens and if there is an emergency need for cash, you can sell eggs.

You have done well given the 0.025% interest rate environment. The key thing is to avoid the land mines that can wipe out a portion of your capital. That's much more important than dividend yield and/or increases of dividends.

I bought a little CPLP ( 30% yield? ) fully expecting one.

I don't expect CPLP to cut it's dividend, but we shall see.
