Just when AMD starts producing at 233, Intel pulls the carpet from under them....Same thing will happen at 266, 300, etc.

Re -- Here's some news on Intel's pricing cuts.

Expect to see pentiumII 233 systems in the 1200-1400 range next month and in the sub-1000 pc's in Q2. Also pentium 233 systems in the sub-1000 category in February, and in sub-800 by Q2.

That will put k6-233 systems in the sub-800 category. With acceleration in losses for AMD.

AMD according to lehman report has slipped its k6-266 by 3 months. Therefore no relief for AMD.

Praveen , re. Intel's price cuts
I can see why , I was just in a local computer store where there was a
Compaq PII 266mhz at $2995 and opposite there was an Acer K6-233 for $1599 . BTW I think I talked 2 prospective Intel customers out of buying the PII because for the advertised 6% speed gain paying twice the price did not make sense .
