When looking at every aspect of brain functioning or personality these can be put on the spectrum of one to 100. Just as if we put 100 people in a room we could rank them on a percentile base on their height, there weight, there's speed, their attractiveness, Etc. This can be done in areas having to do with brain functioning. Examples of this include impulsivity, ability to get depressed, ability to get psychotic, ability to focus, strength of sexual urges, IQ, degree of sociopathy, courage, creativity, self-confidence, etc. I ask my students where are the zeros and 101's? The answer is they do not survive long and do not tend to pass on these traits. Those at the 101 of bravery are killed in Afghanistan or somewhere else and those zero can't seem to find a mate. Those at 101 of impulsivity are in jail and at 0 find no mate. Those at 0 on the depression scale leave this world early and in my models those at 100 are missing half their motivational system(they are missing the stick in the carrot stick motivational model) Those at 100 on sexuality are in jail or having trouble finding those that want to have their children. One would say how can this be true with IQ wouldn't we all want to be 100. Look at Einstein did he pass on any genetic decedents? His son was a schizophrenic do you think this was a coincidence? And what about the Ashkenazi Jewish population who pay for their extra 15 points of IQ with a multitude of Sphingolipid disorders. You see those of us who live at the 1 or 100 of any of the above spectrums or thousands of others have a chance that the apple will fall to the left or the right of the tree. Yes Maurice, madness is not far from genius.Koan is in someways a lucky man
