Clearly, Ascend is one of those "show me" stocks right now that has no credibility with Wall Street. The good news is that the market serve, while increasingly competitive, is the fastest growing area in networking. The company is in their quiet period right now, and odd things tend to happen to companies during the quiet period. In the absence of evidence to the contrary, blue chip companies often see there stocks run up prior to earnings announcements, and they typically don't do much after the announcement. Out of favor stocks like Ascend generally don't get the benefit of the doubt until after they release earnings. If Ascend can prove that they have regained their momentum and solved their problems, then this stock will have major upside potential in late January IMHO. Incredible buying opportunities always feel like Ascend feels right now - pessismism overlayed by a lack of news good or bad. At 23, there is probably 4 bucks to the downside and 20 to the upside depending on how they perform this quarter and next. Pretty favorable risk/reward if you ask me. Who would ever thought of Ascend as a value stock?
