Cooters: You really seem down on the stock price action, and I really don't understand why. Your statement, "After breaking out to new highs on heavy volume, it is under distribution, and doesn't hold the old high," does not make sense to me.

Looking at 52 week highs, we clearly broke out and held.

Today: $56.40(O); $59.66(H); $57.88(C)
12/7/15: $54.50(O); $57.93(H); $55.59(C) (Prior 52 week intraday high)
12/30/15: $52.96(O); $57.20(H); $56.02(C) (Prior 52 week closing high)

This afternoon we bounced very nicely off the 10:10 am dip at around $57.60. I would have loved holding higher levels, but the price action was still very constructive. It was clear by early afternoon that we were losing steam for the day, so the only question was where we would find support and close. The levels we found were great, and represent very nearly 5-year highs.

Today's close was the highest sense September 2011, and we have only visited these levels in April and September of 2011. It looks to me that we have only closed above today's closing price twice in 2011, and we have only traded above the intraday high on three days (4/5/11, 4/6/11 and 9/20/11).

I don't know where you get your "distribution" data, but I don't see it.

Breakout with accumulation.

Chessboard,
Andy
