Also... christmas isn't over yet. It's too early to tell if spending was weak across all consumer segments. I have a theory... we're going to see more and more pre-xmas disappointments only to be followed with post-xmas booms. Point being... us grown ups wind up spending more on ourselves after christmas as a reward for enduring it. Pre xmas sales consist mostly of kids stuff and the obligatory gift exchange with relatives. After xmas, we buy the big ticket items on sale. MEATHEAD
