PV's generate electrical power from the Sun.

What don't you understand about that statement?

Here in Washington State the high energy content materials are refined with energy from Hydropower which is 100% renewable (falling water through a turbine) Silicon ingots and wafers (REC) and aluminum frames (Alcoa).

Transportation energy requirements are a pittance in comparison and even that will be replaced with electrons generated from the Sun (wind and PV).

I guess next you will tell me that the Sun runs on oil.
