Wash sale. Lasser 1997 Section 30.7 "Under the wash-sale rule, your loss deduction is barred if within 30 days of the sale you buy substantially identical stock or securities, or a "put" or "call" option on such securities". The wash sale period is both before and after the day of the sold securities and applies to spouses as well. It amounts to a 61 day period I think because of what I said before that the effective date of a purchase is the day after the trade date.

I copied this link concerning CUC and HFS from the Thrustmaster
TMSR board. There has been some speculation that CU was interested
in TMSR. Recently Todd made mention that CU might be shopping
around and conceivably be looking at game makers in the future.
This would make sense if they are indeed looking at TMSR.
