If dead bodies from WWI are uncovered as a glacier melts, it means the glacier advanced or grew over the dead bodies sometime after WWI. We see melting glaciers in the Alps, Alaska, and elsewhere uncovering Roman ruins and trees that grew in the last few thousand years. The conclusion is obvious that glaciers have been both melting and advancing over time.
