This just out.

Heartwarming story of character and bravery involving household pets.

Johnny Mitchel a 7 year old Ontario resident accidentally left open the cage door
and their 3 month old hamster got loose somewhere in the home.
Having also a pet cat - the family decided to drop the cat off at a neighbors until
the little hamster could be retrieved but after several days and no sign of him it was
time for the cat to come home.

No sooner home than the little hamster came skipping across the living room carpet.

The quick family cat cornered the little fellow while the children ran about screaming.
Mother and Dad, afraid of being scratched by the cat decided to let nature take its course
but to the amazement and surprise of all concerned the little hamster decided to stand his ground.
The little furry fellow stood up upon both legs making a scratching motion with his tiny paws.
He bravely starred the cat in the eyes as the cat starred back. He then puffed up his fur to
appear as large as possible, a move that seems to have made him look all the more delicious
to the cat and so the cat batted him around piercing his body here and there and with children
screaming began eating the little fellow alive. The traumatized children reported
remembering the sound of the Hamster's skull being crushed as the cat feasted
on the stupid little hamster that would not stand down

"It was awful - just awful" reported Mom
"and the cat then coughed up a hair ball which was also awful".

The cat has been reported as resting comfortably at this time.
