NEW YORK, Dec 30 (Reuters) - Trading in U.S. Stocks was
almost nonexistent after hours on a very quiet Tuesday, dealers
said.
"It's been dead, trading is almost nonexistent," said one
trader. "This holiday week is always pretty slow."
Intel Corp was trading in range after the markets
closed, according to traders. Intel closed at 71-11/16, up 7/8
on the day. Compaq Computer Corp was also trading near
its 54-3/4 closing price on the NYSE. Compaq was the day's
most active issue as over 585,000 shares changed hands.
The New York Stock Exchange said session one volume totaled
about 535,000 shares on Tuesday. Session two volume came in at
over 4.8 million shares, the NYSE said.
"It's quiet this morning before the bell but the market
feels like it is going to have another good tone today,"
another trader said.
