Actually in every conflict there are three sides: - The winner's point of view - The losers point of view - What actually happened I am just saying from the North's point of vie and most of the current history text state (we all know they have been written to a certain perspective) that the Confederates fired on the Union troops there. Now I seem to remember something about Union troops moving into that fort before hand and something about a reason for that, and that might be what your talking about.
