I'm glad Intel is aggressive with its PII pricing. It may hurt margins in the short run, but in the long run it will shut out the competition and expand the more proprietary PII architecture. Intel deals with the short-term problems while keeping a long-term view. That is what good management is suppose to do.

PII 233 price cut $401 to 268 --- an admission of pricing power failure

The next series of price cuts to come in February. The reporter for the WSJ implied that Intel was forced into the severe price cut by the competitive pricing and delivery in volume of AMD K6-233's this month.

My response was to buy AMD today.

It certainly would be nice if Intel participated in the year end rally. Even NOVL is participating.

I guess we are just too close to Jan 13th earnings report for anyone to put there money where their mouth is.
