Older kids and adults know that no new weather phenomena are being created by our warming temperatures; perhaps you remember the pre-industrial tale of Ben Franklin and lightening. Existing ones are just made more energetic. Heat is juicing our weather just as steroids juice batting statistics. Here's the thing, tho; when you hit 70 HR on roids, you also strike out 155 times and walk 162 times on roids. All our weather, pleasant or deadly, now takes place in a setting 1 degree warmer than the 20th century average.
