To: Brumar89 who wrote (932446 ) 4/28/2016 5:51:29 PM From: Brumar89 Respond to of 1575867 Christian Bakers Forced to Undergo Reeducation A favorite tactic in the War on Christianity is to force Christians to betray their beliefs. Already this practice has reached extremes of tyranny that most never thought they would see in America. From You Will Be Made to Care, via the Resurgent: For years [Jack Phillips of Masterpiece Cakeshop in Lakewood, Colorado] served both gay and straight customers equally. But when a gay couple insisted that Phillips bake a custom wedding cake for them in 2012, he declined. Incidentally, same-sex unions were illegal in Colorado at the time. According to an administrative law judge who reviewed the case, “Phillips believes that decorating cakes is a form of art, that he can honor God through his artistic talents, and that he would displease God by creating cakes for same-sex marriages.” And get this: Phillips offered to sell the couple a cake he had already made that they could then customize as they desired. They refused, insisting that he be made to decorate it for them. There would be no point to the bullying if Phillips were not made to feel he was betraying God. Phillips made his faith priorities clear: “I’m a man who is devoted to following Jesus Christ. He’s the one that’s in charge of all this…. It’s not up to the courts to decide what marriage is. It’s up to God to decide that. If we are living in obedience to Jesus Christ and the teachings of the Bible we are on the right side of history—no matter what they say.” That is why people like Phillips have to be crushed. This isn’t about perverted sexual relationships, far less “discrimination” against those who showily engage in them. It is about eradicating the concept of a higher authority than Big Government. On August 13, 2015, a Colorado State Court of Appeals ruled Phillips must make cakes for gay weddings if he is to make any cakes at all. That’s not all. The Strident Conservative notes that the Orwellian “Colorado Civil Rights Commission” inflicted the following: The commission directed Phillips to immediately change his store policies, submit his staff to mandatory sensitivity training [including, apparently, his 88-year-old mother] and submit quarterly reports to the commission confirming that he had not refused service to customers based on their sexual orientation . The intent was not merely to punish but to humiliate. Barked Commission Chairwoman Katina Banks: “Religious freedom is undoubtedly an important American value, but so is the right to be treated equally under the law — free from discrimination.” The Founding Fathers never got around to enshrining in the Constitution the supposed right to force people to decorate cakes against their will. Religious freedom, however, really is a right (not a “value”), as acknowledged in the First Amendment. Banks isn’t the only idiot involved in the case who shouldn’t be. Monica Marquiz, one of the justices who voted not to hear the appeal, was the Colorado GLBT Bar Association’s 2009 Outstanding GLBT Attorney Award winner. Conflict of interest anyone? LGBT bullies have a conspicuous tendency to be vile almost beyond belief, but they are only a cat’s paw, not the real problem. They are being exploited by people whose objectives go far beyond sick sex and cakes. - See more at: http://moonbattery.com/?p=71441#sthash.3xueztYe.dpuf
