We wanted to see Titanic last night but it was sold out, so we went to the dollar theatre and saw Air Force One and I came home so wound up I couldn't sleep! I thought it was a really entertaining movie! Your zealot comment made me think of this because there was a Russian zealot (played by Gary Oldham-great job) who had no problem with sacrificing lives for his vision. On the other hand, neither did some of the Americans see the loss of fifty lives as a small price to pay for not caving in to terrorists. When does a human life become less important than "the greater good"? When it's not your family, I guess. Also just finished The Book of Ruth by Jane Hamilton, who wrote A Map of the World. If you haven't read it, do. Now reading Woman on the Edge of Time (Marge Piercy)-started out depressing and now seems to be turning into science fiction-have you heard of it?

My premise is that slaughter is slaughter. Oh, rubbish, Ms Weasel, you're changing your story in order to wriggle out of the hole you dug for yourself. Your premise was that the Christmas story was the "cause" of mass slaughters. Go back and read your own silly post. Now, you tell me how it "caused" massacres. I I I, of course, made it evident that the anti-religious social order that you champion has in fact been even redder in tooth and claw than the religious societies that have you foaming at the mouth.
