Ian,

Your points are well taken and true the stocks are beaten down significantly. So if they go down another 10-30% in the near term vs. 50-100% in the long term, what's the difference. I recently bought ASYT at 20 and promptly sold it because my sense is that this bull market could be on its last legs and a significant correction is in the wings. Sentiment particularly towards the semi-equips but also towards the broader market seems to be uncertain if not pessimistic.
My sentiment wavers. Lately I'm tempted to buy CYMI for various reasons, one of which is that its current price is less than one third of it's 52 week high. Yes, you do start to wonder how much more downside potential is there for some of these stocks. Anyway it's a tough call.

Regards,
AZ

Ian,

Woops! I meant:So if they go down another 10-30% in the near term vs. UP 50-100% in the long term, what's the difference? There seems to be much debate as to when semiconductor co's will commit large sums towards 300mm gear and which companies will benefit. I'm pondering the question and following the debate myself.
