Carol,

Don't get the religion mixed up with the spiritual practice. Achaan Chah is reflecting on meditative practice in these quotes. In all likelihood he couldn't give a hoot what your religious beliefs are--as long as they do not impinge on the path toward good spiritual practice.

Meditation, and the practices and attitudes outlined in these quotes I submit, are nonsectarian. I believe that the 'path' as outlined in his book 'A Still Forest Pool' is Achaan Chah's way of expressing the 'meditative way'....so to speak.

I post it because I believe it is religious neutral. Useful no matter what expression of the One you have been blessed with realizing.

I post it not just for your possible appreciation of it, but also because typing it out makes me reread it carefully. And rereading may perhaps cause me to sit my ass down and do it.

....The first step on this road is just sitting down.

regards,
