The way things are going, Cruz may need to run as the leader of the "Conservative Party" in four years ....win or lose, the time for a third party is just AFTER the 2016 elections. With careful thought, organization, candidate choice, and ballot makeup, it will be straight forward for a near seamless transition. It is insanity to go on with the Republican party as it is now. You have to realize.... probably 50% of Rs can and will rehabilitate and appear on the ballot under both the R and C ticket. The very careful thought out definition of the rest of the ticket is key.............let the thought process begin.
