Name me one software product which was delivered on time. For the record, any delay by Sun would have been welcomed by Corel's development staff had they actually been engaged in a methodical design and implementation process; this nonsense that Sun's delays are responsible for a FAILED product is just that. They not only failed to deliver; they failed to design; they failed to assess the risk areas; they failed to grasp the fundamental attributes of Java development. They need to wake up to the fact that they have been playing with products somebody else designed and somebody else implemented long ago. Once they wake up to that fact they will realize that designing a successful new software application is out of their league and they will bring in outside talent.

SUNW's weakness is it's consulting arm. Sun should look at how
profitable consulting can be by looking a companies such as
DEC or ORCL who take advantage of providing top-flight,
on-site consulting.

It seemed Corel was working remotely, by phone/email, with
Sun on the project; based on the article you pointed me to.

Obviously a joint design/development effort should have been
undertaken with Sun's Javasoft group. Are they doing such a
thing now?
