Tom. Alan Greenspan and/or Secretary Rubin will continue to inflate at all costs to prevent deflation which carries the greatest risk to the U.S. monetary system. Eventually this will show up in some inflation statistic, most likely an increase in the price of gold. Currently, some or most of this free money is going to the South Korea money pit, and the purchase of treasuries previously held by the Bank Of Japan. I continue to invest in gold assets in order to profit from the folly of this move. The only reason to rescue South Korea is to buy time for Japan to stop it's own bleeding, and for the big boys to get out with the least damage as per the prior Mexican bailout.

I just read this month's copy of Strategic Investment, and they view that Australia, New Zealand, and Canada are likely candidates for the Asian flu. Most of the Canadian members of this thread, I presume have some gold assets so they are prepared for this nasty virus, unfortunately their central bank along with the central bank of Australia have picked an inopportune time to be short of the barbaric relic.
